If you’re hungry to learn more about which storms produce severe weather, you’re in luck.
The Wichita branch of the National Weather Service has rolled out its schedule for Storm Fury on the Plains, one-night training sessions designed to teach Kansas residents how to spot hazardous weather and stay safe. Sessions are scheduled in each of the 26 counties of southeast Kansas covered by the Wichita branch.
The Wichita session will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 6 at Central Community Church, 6100 W. Maple. Butler County’s session will be in Augusta at the Point Event Center at 6:30 p.m.
The Harvey County presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. in Lindley Hall in Newton on Feb. 22.
All sessions are free.
Additional sessions for numerous towns in the Wichita area will be announced at a later date.
