Wichita weather for Thursday: Cloudy skies, 60, rain possible later

Cloudy skies and maybe a thunderstorm are in Thursday’s forecast for the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Highs will reach the low to mid-60s, with variable winds in the teens and gusts topping 20 miles an hour. Any showers or thunderstorms will come later in the evening — perhaps even after midnight, forecasters say.

Friday could bring strong storms to the region, including the possibility of tornadoes. Highs will be in the low 80s, with a mixture of clouds and sunshine.

Downpours, large hail and strong winds are possible with Friday’s storms, forecasters say. Monitor forecasts and conditions and prepare to take shelter if necessary.
