Wichita weather: Warmer temperatures on a sunny day

After a delightful weekend, Wichita will see temperatures in the upper 80s under mostly sunny skies on Monday.

Winds will turn gusty out of the south, forecasters say, with gusts approaching 30 mph by later in the day. Chances for rain and thunderstorms arrive early Tuesday morning, when lows will settle in the low 70s. South winds will ease only slightly.

Chances for rain increase on Tuesday, forecasters say, particularly in the evening for the Wichita area. Highs will push into the low 90s, and winds will intensify. Steady breezes in the teens will strengthen into the 20s and gust to nearly 40 mph.

Wednesday will be much cooler in the Wichita area, forecasters say, with highs only in the upper 70s. Chances for rain will persist.
