It’ll be warm and windy across the Wichita metropolitan area on Thursday, forecasters say.
Highs should reach the upper 70s under sunny skies, with south winds in the teens early and then strengthening into the 20s by afternoon. Gusts could reach 30 miles an hour at times.
Friday is expected to offer more sunshine, with highs in the mid-80s. Winds will be lighter, forecasters say, lingering around 10 miles an hour.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight Friday and again on Saturday afternoon, forecasters say. A few isolated strong storms are possible in the eastern half of the state, with large hail and winds of up to 70 miles an hour.
