Wichita — and much of Kansas — will be waking up to at least some frost on Wednesday.
Lows will drop into the upper 30s across the metropolitan area early Wednesday morning, forecasters say. That will set the stage for patchy frost.
Sunshine later in the day will help highs recover to the mid-60s. Tuesday’s brisk north winds will be a memory, with calm conditions early making way for light south winds after sunrise.
Lows early Thursday will be in the upper 50s, with Thursday seeing a return of much warmer temperatures and gusty winds. Highs on Thursday should reach the upper 70s, forecasters say, with south winds in the teens gusting to more than 25 miles an hour.
Temperatures will push into the 80s through the end of the week before another cold front sends temperatures plummeting again on Sunday.
