Wichita weather: Clearing skies, but wind remains

Residents and utility crews will have a dry but windy day as they work to restore electricity and clean up damage from overnight storms in the Wichita metropolitan area.

Skies will gradually clear as the day goes on, forecasters say, with highs topping out at about 60. North winds will remain robust, with steady breezes in the 20s and gusts reaching 40 miles an hour.

Overnight lows could drop to the low 30s, forecasters say, before temperatures recover Saturday into the mid-60s with plenty of sunshine. Winds will remain gusty, topping 25 miles an hour at times.

Sunday will be warm, too, with highs in the mid-60s to low 70s.
