Don’t be surprised if a storm or two rolls through the Wichita area Thursday, forecasters say.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible from early afternoon into the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.
“While the risk for organized severe weather appears low, a few strong storms will be possible with gusty winds and small hail,” a hazardous weather outlook issued by the weather service stated.
Highs should climb into the upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies for Wichita on Thursday, forecasters say. Winds will be light and variable.
Sunshine returns on Friday, though highs will only be in the low 80s behind the cold front that brought Thursday’s storms. Chances for showers and thunderstorms return Saturday, forecasters say, with highs in the low 80s. The best chances for storms on Saturday will be in the afternoon and evening.
