Thursday will seem tranquil in the Wichita area after the hail and buffeting winds of Wednesday.

Sunny skies and highs near 60 are expected, forecasters say, with north-northwest winds touching double digits and occasional gusts approaching 20 miles an hour.

Overnight lows will drop into the low 40s with increasing clouds and a few sprinkles possible, forecasters say. Friday will offer more sunshine and highs once again in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Pleasant weather is projected for Wichita’s weekend, with sunny skies, light winds and highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
