Summer will start to flex its muscles in the Wichita area on Sunday.
Highs are projected to reach the mid-90s on a sunny day, forecasters say. The south winds that help define Kansas will be steady in the teens and gusting to more than 20 miles an hour.
The forecast for the work week will resemble a stuck LP playing the same notes over and over: Highs should climb to the upper 90s, forecasters say, with abundant sunshine and south winds in the teens.
Highs could crawl into the triple digits late in the week. If they do, it’ll be the first time this year for Wichita.
