Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the Wichita area on Friday, forecasters say.
Skies will be mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-80s. The best chances for strong storms will be along the Oklahoma state line, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will be out of the north and northeast and may push into the teens.
A slight chance for showers will persist into Friday night, before Saturday offers a break from the rain. Highs then will be in the upper 80s on a mostly sunny day.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms will return on Sunday and remain for the next several days, forecasters say. Highs should linger in the low 90s.
