Strong storms could strike Wichita area overnight

Wichita could see some strong storms overnight Thursday, the National Weather Service warns.

Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain are the primary threats, the agency says. Localized flooding is possible.

Winds could reach 60 mph at times, forecasters say. Hail has the potential to be as large as golf balls and even tennis balls. The storms are forecast to be in the Wichita area at around 10:30 or 11 p.m.
