Wichita can expect a hot, windy day on the first full day of summer.
Highs should reach the mid-90s, forecasters say, with south winds in the teens and gusting to nearly 25 mph. Showers and thunderstorms should stay to the north and west of the Wichita metropolitan area.
Temperatures will not drop out of the 70s overnight, forecasters say, and winds will ease only slightly.
Thursday will see highs in the low 90s and south winds easing to single digits. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms enters the forecast on Friday, forecasters say.
