Some welcome rain is in the forecast for the Wichita area on Wednesday.
The best chances for rain will be in the morning, forecasters say. Highs will only be in the upper 40s, with light east winds in the single digits. Occasional gusts will push into the mid-teens.
Rain returns on Thursday, when highs will again top out in the upper 40s, forecasters say. But then a rapid warming trend arrives as the clouds move out, driving highs into the upper 60s on Friday and the 70s on Saturday.
