It’ll be a windy and much cooler day Tuesday across the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say.
Highs in Wichita will top out in the upper 50s to low 60s, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and robust north winds. That’s about a 25-degree drop from Monday’s record-tying high of 83.
Steady breezes will be in the 20s, forecasters say, with gusts approaching 40 miles an hour. Chances for rain arrive after midnight, when lows will dip into the 40s. Rain is likely after sunrise and into early afternoon on Wednesday, forecasters say, when highs will only reach the upper 40s.
Temperatures will begin to rebound on Thursday, with highs in the 50s and more chances of rain.
