Wichita weather: Warmer and windier

A delightful weather week in Wichita will close with a toast encore on Friday.

Highs should reach the mid-70s, forecasters say, with a mix of clouds and sunshine throughout the day. It’ll be a bit breezy, with northerly winds gaining strength into the teens later in the day. Gusts could approach 25 miles an hour at times.

The weekend will continue with unusually warm weather, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and sunny skies. Saturday will be windy, though, with north winds in the upper teens and gusts of nearly 30 miles an hour at times.

Those winds will ease and shift to the south on Sunday, forecasters say, with highs climbing into the mid-70s.
