Wichita weather: Dense fog advisory until 9 a.m., then sunny and 70s

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for nine counties in south-central Kansas, including the Wichita metropolitan area.

Visibility will be less than a quarter-mile at times – particularly in rural areas – and motorists are advised to travel with caution. The advisory includes Harvey, Sedgwick, Butler, Kingman, Sumner, Greenwood, Cowley, Harper and Elk counties.

Once the fog burns off by mid- to late morning, temperatures will climb into the low 70s on a sunny day. Winds will stir and become light and variable.

Overnight lows will settle in the 40s and Wednesday will offer more 70s and light breezes.
