Snow from earlier this week has lifted Wichita’s total for the season to nearly 11 inches, weather officials say.
The 10.9 inches of snow is about a half-inch below normal for this time of the season, said Scott Smith, a meteorologist with the Wichita branch of the National Weather Service. That deficit may well vanish this weekend, when snow is expected to be part of a wintry mix of precipitation.
“It does look like something messy’s coming in,” Smith said.
But it’s too far out to have a good reading on how much snow will fall where, he said. Stay tuned to later forecasts.
