The morning commute could be a wet one for the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected throughout the day and through the evening in the region, with highs climbing to the low 80s.
“It doesn’t look like anything crazy” like last week, when 10 to 12 inches of rain fell south of Wichita and nearly 9 inches fell in the city over a 48-hour period, National Weather Service meteorologist Robb Lawson said.
Some of the thunderstorms could be strong on Friday, Lawson said, and where those form, an inch or two of rain is possible by the time precipitation ends. That should be sometime early Saturday, he said.
