Wichita weather: Rain returns

Scattered showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast for the Wichita area over the next few days.

Chances for rain are slight for much of the day Wednesday, forecasters say, but they pick up significantly by evening. Highs Wednesday will be in the upper 70s, with light northerly winds.

Thursday and early Friday have the best chances for rain in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say. Isolated pockets of heavy rain will be possible, though they won’t be as widespread or as long-lasting as last week’s storms.

Chances for rain will ease Friday night and early Saturday, forecasters say. Highs through the period should be in the low 80s.
