Rain enters the forecast for the Wichita area on Wednesday, and forecasters say strong storms could bring periods of heavy rain over the next few days.
The strongest storms are most likely to be south of U.S. 56 in south-central and southeast Kansas, according to a statement issued by the National Weather Service.
It’ll be mostly cloudy and breezy in the Wichita area on Wednesday, with highs of about 90. Winds out of the south will be in the upper teens to low 20s, with gusts topping 30 mph at times.
Showers and thunderstorms will be likely both Thursday and Friday in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 80s and light southerly winds.
The weekend should be dry, forecasters say, before chances of rain reappear early next week.
