Powerball jackpot grows to $750M. Here’s how much Kansas players have spent on tickets

Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing has garnered increased interest in Kansas as the jackpot continues to grow.

The jackpot reached $750 million after no winner was named in Monday’s drawing. Wednesday’s jackpot total is the sixth-largest in the history of the game, with an estimated cash value of $378.8 million. The original $725 million jackpot was raised due to countrywide strong ticket sales.

The winning numbers from Monday night’s drawing were 7, 23, 24, 32, 43 and red Powerball 18.

A Kansas Lottery spokesperson said while they cannot say what sales reach until after tonight’s drawing, they are expected to exceed the last draw, which was $518,995 spent across the state purchasing tickets for Monday’s $675 million jackpot.

What are the odds of a Kansan winning the jackpot? One in 292,201,338, according to Kansas Lottery’s website. The odds are better for the other Powerball prizes, which vary from $4 to $1 million. The overall odds of winning any prize on the game is in 24.87.

Where can you play Powerball in Kansas?

If you want to try for Wednesday’s jackpot, you have until 8:59 p.m. to purchase your ticket. Drawings are held every every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m.

To play the lottery in Kansas, you can visit the organization’s website to find a list of authorized retailers. On the website, there’s an option to enter an address to find the retailer closest to you. If you want to skip the line, you might be interested in visiting a retailer with a vending machine. You can find a list of vending machines available online.

Players have 60 days to claim the prize after their ticket is validated, according to Kansas Lottery. Winners can choose between a lump cash sum of the prize or be paid in yearly installments.
