Kansas City, Kan., officers used a stun gun Wednesday to subdue a man who later died at a hospital, police said.

The man, who name had not been released, became combative with Kansas City, Kan., police and emergency workers, police said.

The incident happened about 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store in the 1300 block of Quindaro Boulevard. Officers were flagged down to assist a man who, they said, was acting bizarrely. The man became combative when paramedics tried to treat him, police said, and an officer used a stun gun on the man.

He was taken to a hospital but later died. The cause of death has not been determined and the incident remains under investigation.
