A Kansas man who died after his truck collided with another pickup ran a stop sign, officials said.

John C. Allen, 76, of Sharon Springs, was driving a 1995 Ford F-350 southbound on VFW road at U.S. 50 in Finney County at around 4:45 p.m. Monday when he failed to stop at a stop sign, a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report states. A 2000 Chevy pickup eastbound on U.S. 50 crashed into the passenger side of Allen's F-350.

Allen was taken to St. Catherine's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report states. The 25-year-old Garden City man driving the Chevy was taken to the same hospital with injuries.
