Bob the beaver was roaming city streets, but he was safely released near a river thanks to officers with the Junction City Police Department.

"We can add Beaver wrangling to our resume today," the department posted to Facebook on Friday. “'Bob' as we now call him was walking around the South Jackson St area this morning."

Officers worked to keep Bob safe while waiting for him to tire out, according to the post.

Then, "He happily walked into one of our dog Kennels to relax," the department said.

Police then took Bob to a river boat ramp, where he was safely released.

Junction City is about 20 miles southwest of Manhattan.
