Chances to meet Wichita candidates

Here are upcoming opportunities to meet and hear candidates for the Wichita City Council and Wichita school board.

The primary election is March 1.

* The South Wichita Business Association will have a moderated forum Wednesday for City Council candidates running for the District 3 and 4 positions in the primary. District 3 covers portions of southeast Wichita; district 4, southwest.

The forum runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cedar Chapel United Methodist Church, 1140 E. 47th Street South, just west of I-135 and 47th Street. It's unclear which candidates will attend.

* The Wichita Pachyderm Club will host District 3 candidates at a luncheon Friday.

The event runs from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Petroleum Club on the ninth floor of the Bank of America Building, 100 N. Broadway. The cost for the buffet lunch is $10.

* District 2 candidate Steve Harris plans a breakfast chat from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wichita Country Club, 8501 E. 13th St. North. District 2 includes parts of east Wichita.

* At large school board candidate Kim Bush plans a meet-and-greet from 5 to 7 tonight at Mead's Corner, 430 E. Douglas.
