Area residents can tell lawmakers what issues they care about at a public forum set for 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The forum, hosted by the South Central Kansas Legislative Delegation, will be in the jury room of the Sedgwick County Courthouse, 525 N. Main.
It comes as lawmakers prepare for the opening of the session Jan. 12.
People who would like to speak briefly during the forum are encouraged to show up at least an hour early to sign up. The number of speakers will be limited, and the forum will end at 8:30 p.m. Some lawmakers may stay and talk with residents afterward.

Lawmakers also will hear presentations from government agencies from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Rhatigan Student Center on Wichita State University campus. That event is open to the public but will not include opportunities for public comment.
About 25 to 30 members of the 49-member delegation are expected to be at both events.
