Three masked men held a 7-year-old boy in scalding hot water and injured the child's dad during a home-invasion style robbery, Texas deputies said.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office responded to the robbery at about 3 a.m. Monday morning near Houston, according to a release. When deputies arrived, the father and homeowner said three masked men broke through the front door and hit him.
While the robbery was taking place, the men forced the boy into hot water, deputies told KHOU.
"In an attempt to get information, the culprits held the 7-year-old boy in a bath tub, causing injuries to the son," the release states.

The family of four was terrorized for 30-60 minutes while the robbers were in the home, KPRC reported.
"To see what took place in that house and to be used as a device to try to extract information from the father is very, very disturbing," Sheriff Troy Nehls told KHOU.
The 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital and has fluids in his lungs, Nehls posted to Twitter. His injuries are not life threatening.
"This is the worst kind of crime against a family,” Nehls said in a release. “Three crooks forcing their way into a home in the middle of the night is appalling. To make matters worse, they accosted a 7-year-old child. They’re cowards, to say the least."
The men demanded cash and got away with "various items from the home," including money and jewelry.
The case is still under investigation.
