McALESTER, Okla. —The first execution carried out by Oklahoma in 2010 will be that of a man convicted of killing his former girlfriend's daughter and the woman's 6-year-old son.
State officials say 60-year-old Julius Ricardo Young is scheduled to be put to death Thursday.
Young was convicted of the 1993 beating deaths of Joyland Morgan and her son, Kewan, whose bodies were discovered Oct. 1, 1993. Prosecutors said Young was upset that Morgan's mother had broken up their relationship.

CLEVELAND — Road salt accumulating on a utility pole caused a fire Sunday that knocked out electrical power to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, canceling dozens of flights.
Continental, United, American, Southwest and US Air were among the airlines that canceled flights after the early morning outage. Almost all of the day's normal departures of about 260 flights were canceled. Crews restored power about 2:30 p.m.
