So you didn’t win the $1.5 billion, but 93,450 Kansas players won lottery prizes
If you play the lottery and didn’t check your ticket when you saw that the winner was in South Carolina, you may want to look at it now.
That’s because 93,450 winning tickets in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing were sold in Kansas, lottery officials said. The winning numbers were 5-28-62-65-70 Megaball 5 Megaplier 3.
One ticket sold in South Carolina matched all the numbers for a $1.537 billion jackpot — the world’s second-largest lottery jackpot.
In Kansas, one ticket won $30,000, three tickets won $10,000 and four tickets won $1,500 each, lottery officials said.
Of the 93,450 winning tickets in Kansas, only 248 of them won more than $30, lottery numbers show. A total of $459,740 was won in Kansas, an average of $4.92 per ticket.
Kansas Mega Millions sales were over $4.5 million, lottery officials said.
