The Dallas possibility is done. WSU won’t be a part of a season tip-off parade of games on Nov. 8 at American Airlines Center. The field is set with three games. The Shockers will open the season on Nov. 9 with an afternoon game against a non-Division I opponent, according to senior associate athletic director Darron Boatright. The Shockers will scrimmage Baylor at a date and location to be determined. The teams will likely meet in Oklahoma for the session. As usual, the Bears are loaded with talent and are expected to be a great offensive team. Center Isaiah Austin had shoulder surgery in May, so I’m not sure if he will participate. Regardless, the day should be a great test for the Shockers and a nice way to prepare for a demanding schedule.Work is almost complete on the men’s basketball locker rooms. WSU is also adding tiered seats to the interview room underneath Koch Arena so it can double as a film room. An open house is in the works for October to show off the changes.
