Kansas was one of only six states that cut funding to public universities this fiscal year, according to a survey by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Of the 48 states that supplied data, 37 increased funding and five held funding flat. All total, including the states that cut funding, higher-ed funding increased 3.6 percent nationwide. Kansas cut funding by about 3 percent. The highest cut was 17.6 percent in Louisiana.
