Saturday's scores: MIAA, KCAC and MISSISSIPPI, Y'ALL

Butler is ranked No. 3 headed into Sunday’s Region VI title game against Hutchinson – the Grizzlies need No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast to beat No. 2 East Mississippi if they want a shot at the national title.

So here we go:


No. 5 Gulf Coast 10, No. 2 E. Mississippi 7 halftime


Pitt State and Washburn can both clinch share of MIAA title with wins. One loses, one wins, either team can win outright. Both lose, three-way tie with NW Missouri.

Central Missouri 33, No. 6 Washburn 14 2nd quarter

No. 9 Pittsburg State 27, Missouri Southern 15 2nd quarter

Emporia State (5-5, 3-5) at Northwest Missouri (8-2, 6-2), 1 p.m.

Missouri Western (8-2, 6-2) at Fort Hays State (4-6, 3-5), 2 p.m.


No. 25 Bethany (8-2, 6-2 KCAC) at Southwestern (4-6, 3-5), 1:30 p.m. —The Swedes still have an outside shot at the NAIA playoffs, but they’ll have to win convincingly here to jump up in the polls. Junior RB Theron Allen is second in the nation in rushing with 1,263 yards and still has an outside shot at leading the nation in rushing for the second straight season.

Saint Mary (6-4, 6-2) at Kansas Wesleyan (5-5, 5-3), 1:30 p.m.
