Storm Prediction Center removes 'moderate' risk for storms today

The SPC in Norman has lowered today’s threat for severe storms in the Great Plains from moderate to slight, citing considerable uncertainty in forecasting models about what will happen today.

The agency still lists a 10 percent chance of tornadoes in much of central, northwest and northcentral Kansas, stretching from just west of Kingman to near Dodge City and as far north as the Kansas-Nebraska line.

Wichita is in a zone facing a 5 percent chance of tornadoes.
