The National Weather Service has produced a map showing the tracks of F5 tornadoes that have hit Kansas. As a follow-up to my story on Kansas having the most F5s, I thought I would post the map.
Interestingly, none occur in the western third of the state. I suspect that may have to do with less Gulf moisture to typically work with (at least to produce tornadoes rising to the top of the Fujita Scale) that far west, but that’s just a gut feeling at this point.
