Cartridge King of Kansas moves its Wichita store to West Street

WICHITA — McPherson-based Cartridge King of Kansas is moving its Wichita store to West Street and opening there today or Thursday.

"We're downsizing," says Cheryl Anderson, business manager.

The move has a positive side, though, she says.

"There's a lot more traffic on this street," Anderson says. "A lot more businesses."

The new 3,500-square-foot store is at 155 S. West St.

The previous 6,000-square-foot store was at 2819 E. Central.

Cartridge King also has stores in McPherson and Topeka.

"Things are tougher down in this economy, probably because of the aircraft slowdown," Anderson says. "Everybody, I think, is just cutting back."

The company does a lot of business with the state, school districts and colleges, too.

"And so every one of those . . . is cutting back," Anderson says.
