I saw this article/video today while browsing through Yahoo! at lunch. Two teams collaborated to let Ike Ditzenburger, a junior from Snohomish High School in Washington to score a touchdown. Ditzenburger had one carry for 51 yards and a touchdown at the end of the game and it was the highlight of the game despite the team’s loss. He has Down syndrome.
The coach calls the play the Ike special. I’ve seen other situations like this in different sports when another team shows a sign of sportsmanship and relinquishes a point. What are your thoughts on acts like these in the sports arena? Should we see more of them?
