Call for a bipartisan smoke-out

As House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, made news on CBS' "Face the Nation" by suggesting he'd support excluding the richest Americans from an extension of the Bush-era tax cuts if that were "the only option," host Bob Schieffer made a provocative suggestion of his own — that Boehner and President Obama have a bipartisan smoke-out. "Maybe the two of you could find a way to try to stop smoking," said Schieffer, a cancer survivor. "That would be kind of a good thing, wouldn't it?" Boehner, clearly irritated, said he appreciated the idea but emphasized that tobacco is a legal product. "I wish I didn't have this bad habit, but it's something that I choose to do," he said. "You know, at some point, maybe I'll decide I've had enough of it."
