Negative reactions to negative campaigning

The efforts by Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, to trash front-runner Rep. Jerry Moran, R-Hays, in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate are getting some negative reactions around the state. "The notion that somehow Jerry Moran is in Speaker Nancy Pelosi's camp and is a big-taxing big spender is utterly preposterous," wrote Ned Valentine, editor of the Clay Center Dispatch. "That anyone would believe, let alone be moved to vote, on the basis of that fantasy is downright revolting." The Hutchinson News called some of the Tiahrt campaign's rhetoric about Moran "outright bizarre."
