Strong thunderstorms are possible in much of central Kansas today, while Wichita should be sunny, windy and warm.
Hail as large as golf balls and 70 mph winds are the primary threats with these thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
Wichita should see plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-80s. Winds out of the southeast will blow steadily in the teens, with gusts to about 25 mph.
A slight chance of thunderstorms arrives tonight, with cloudy skies and lows around 50. South winds will shift to the northwest as a cool front moves through, forecasters say.
Highs will be about 20 degrees cooler on Friday, with highs in the mid-60s.
