After a delightfully placid Monday, Wichita can expect hearty winds to return to the region today.
South winds will strengthen from the low teens to the low 20s as the day unfolds, with gusts topping 30 mph. Highs under sunny skies should reach the low to mid-80s, forecasters say.
Winds are expected to shift around to the north tonight, when lows will slip into the low 50s under clear skies. Those winds will be steady in the upper teens, with gusts of more than 25 mph.
Those winds will continue on Wednesday, forecasters say, giving a cool edge to a sunny day with highs in the mid-70s.
