Oklahoma State at Wichita State

OSU lineup – 2B Duren, SS Belza, C David, 3B Ginther, 1B Green, LF Rosthenhausler, DH Phillips, RF Botts, CF Harvard

WSU lineup – SS Grimes, 2B Baez, C Lassley, DH Springer, 1B Coy, LF Bascue, CF Jones, 3B Goro, CF Hall

OSU is starting lefty Thomas Keeling (3-5, 5.90). He started Friday’s game at Texas and the Longhorns knocked him out after four innings, eight hits and nine runs. So like WSU with Tim Kelley, the Cowboys are starting a weekend guy coming off a short outing.

WSU pitcher Charlie Lowell will throw off a mound Thursday, an important step in his return to action. Lowell hasn’t pitched since April 4, when a strained left forearm benched him. If things continue to progress well, Lowell would like to pitch again by mid-May. How realistic is that? I’m not sure. WSU will need to bring Lowell along slowly after a month off. I would guess the goal is to have him close to full-strength by the MVC Tournament in late May."I hope to be back in the mix in a week or two," Lowell said. "I made a big step last week. I went from not being able to play catch at all to throwing a full round of catch."
