Obama would handily defeat Romney, Palin

President Obama's approval ratings have dropped significantly, but he would handily defeat the leading GOP candidates in the 2012 presidential election, according to a new CNN survey. In hypothetical matchups, Obama topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitch Romney by 53 to 45 percent, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee by 54 to 45 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich by 55 to 43 percent, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by 55 to 42 percent. Though Palin has become a GOP star, 69 percent of those surveyed said she is not qualified to be president.
