It likely is an anomaly, but the approval rating of Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., tumbled in the latest SurveyUSA poll, sponsored by KWCH, Channel 12. Of Kansans surveyed, 41 percent approved of the job Brownback was doing and 47 percent disapproved. Last month, 50 percent approved of Brownback's job performance. Only 39 percent of moderates and 38 percent of independents approved of Brownback's job performance in the latest survey, which could be a factor in the governor's race. Interestingly, one of Brownback's highest ratings came from African-Americans, who gave him 56 percent approval and 34 percent disapproval. Meanwhile, Sen. Pat Roberts' latest approval rating was at 51 percent, with 38 percent disapproval.
