Highs should reach the upper 70s and southerly wind gusts climb into the low 30s later today. Breezes should be steady in the teens to low 20s.
The National Weather Service is warning that thunderstorms could fire up along and west of a line from Salina to Hutchinson to Anthony later today. “A few strong storms are possible with gusty winds and small hail,” the agency states in its hazardous weather outlook.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s, forecasters say. Thunderstorm chances spread east into the Wichita area on Thursday and Friday, and some of the storms could be strong and produce locally heavy rainfall. Monitor forecasts and conditions.
