Today will seem downright chilly in the Wichita area compared to the first few days of this week, with highs more than 20 degrees below what they were on Tuesday.
Cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers are in the forecast today, forecasters say, with highs only reaching the upper 50s. The robust winds that have persisted throughout the week will continue, but they will be out of the northwest instead. Those winds will intensify from the low teens early in the day to the 20s later, with gusts topping 30 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will flirt with the freezing mark, but Thursday should see highs rebound to more seasonal figures, with dry conditions and highs in the low to mid-60s.
