Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., now has a serious Democratic challenger for the governor's job, state Sen. Tom Holland of Baldwin City. But that doesn't mean Brownback has much of a challenge, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll. The survey, conducted Feb. 24, found 55 percent support for Brownback, compared with 33 percent for Holland; 36 percent said they view Brownback very favorably, but only 7 percent could say that of Holland. The same survey found that 58 percent of Kansans approve of the job performance of Gov. Mark Parkinson, who declines to run for his job.
