Brownback 55, Holland 33 in poll

BrownbackHollandThe first poll to be released on the Kansas governor’s race has U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback a comfy 22 points ahead of his new Democratic opponent, state Sen. Tom Holland.

The Rasmussen poll indicates Brownback has the support of 55 percent of likely voters, compared to Holland with 33 percent. Four percent are rooting for someone else, and 8 percent are undecided.

Rasmussen concludes that while congressional incumbents face tough re-election campaigns elsewhere, “Brownback appears to be suffering little ill will from Kansas voters as he downshifts from a national political position to a state one.”

Holland just started his campaign two weeks ago.
