Dave Johnson has dropped the asking price on his Dave Johnson Sales car lot at 6717 W. Kellogg from $590,000 to $490,000. He's also willing to lease.
For more than 20 years, that's where he had his service center for his Dollar car rental business.
After he sold that business a couple of years ago, Johnson used the property — there's 15,625 square feet for the total lot — for a second west-side used car lot.

His first is at 8535 W. Kellogg.
"We really didn't need two locations," Johnson says. "It just got confusing."
He says the 8535 W. Kellogg address is more productive.
There's a 1,933-square-foot building on the property with three bays, including one that's a car wash.
"We've had a lot of inquiries because it's also got a Clear Channel sign on (the property) that brings in income," Johnson says.
Also, he says, "I own the dirt and all."
Johnson says other properties in the area are on 99-year ground leases.
"It makes it very, very attractive that you own the dirt."
The nearby Texas Roadhouse does very well, Johnson says, so he thinks that could bode well for other potential bars or restaurants.
"Oh, I think it'd be a good location for either a sports bar or a breakfast deal."
