Boeing delivered 481 commercial airplanes last year, the company said today. That’s up about 28 percent from a year ago, when the a strike delayed production. Boeing has 3,375 commercial airliners in its backlog.
The company took 263 gross and 142 net orders for the year as air travel and freight declined and carriers faced severe economic challenges, it said.
Of its deliveries, 373 of them were 737 airliners. Boeing took 178 net orders for the 737 last year and has a backlog of 2,076 of the units. Boeing also has 851 orders for the 787 Dreamliner, but had a negative 59 orders for the plane this year.
