The second-coldest October on record in Wichita had folks wondering what kind of winter it would be. Much of December has been markedly colder than normal, though most of the month has been dry in the metropolitan area.
But a strong winter storm brought significant snow to much of the state on Dec. 8.
As much as 15 inches of snow fell in northern Kansas, and totals of 6 to 10 inches were widespread in central parts of the state.
